There are mornings when Jackie is just a perfect angel. Today was one of those days.
She started out by cuddling in very sweetly while we waited for Daddy to finish his shower. She and Colin had a great time waking up and she gave him specific instructions to fall down on the couch. She then said, "Take off your glasses and put them on the table." He did. Then, "Now you can't see me!" Then told him to put them back on.
She was playing with her Irish Little People and picked up the red curly haired girl with red glasses and said, "This one is Daddy."
Later, she was entertaining herself with toys and I could hear her saying, "Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon."
When I dropped her off at school, her boy bud came over and said, "Hi Jackie" and she said, "Hi Cody!" (Usually, there is a bit of crying going on and begging for Mommy to not leave. This was a pleasant surprise). She was content to give me a tight squeeze, put her head on my shoulder, and go play with her friends.
Such a fun morning.
The count down is upon us. We're under the 2 week mark until the due date and enjoying time with Jackie being an only child for a bit longer. I think she's going to do really well with another little one. We watched her birthday video this weekend which was so special for me and really good for her to see Mommy holding a tiny baby in the hospital and watching her change for the first 8 weeks. Our lives are about to change dramatically and we are so excited to meet and get to know the little person growing inside of me.
Jackie's 2nd birthday is just a few days away and she is talking about it all of the time - making sure everyone knows about how old she'll be and that she's going to wear a pink dress and have pink cupcakes. I just can't believe our baby will be two. Makes me choke up a bit. My goodness.
Sweet baby Eleanor Paige Manning joined our family June 4, 2010 at 11:53 am after an uneventful birth. She weighed 7 lbs. and was 20 3/4 inches long. She has been such a cuddly and sweet baby since day 1. We love her so much. 
Life doesn't seem to stop when you have two babies. We missed one week of our Saturday Farmers Market. We frequent the coffee shop on 15th street each week before we check out the produce. Jackie has been smitten with her sister. She's exceeded all of our expectations and has transitioned beautifully to having a baby sister. She loves to give her kisses and when she wakes up from a nap, the first thing she wants to do is check on her sister.
