What a wonderful weekend!!

Colin, Jackie and I had a pretty lovely weekend. We had manadatory "inside time" with the crazy rain on Saturday. Colin was able to watch tons of football, make chili, cornbread, spaghetti and beef stew(my fav). Sunday was such a beautiful day, we took pictures at Woodward park. We are so enjoying the beginning of fall.

bath time!

Loving the activity gym.

Jackie is getting so good at tummy time.

Do you think my mommy loves me?

Look at these peeps!

Woodward Park

Daddy's pretty cool.

This is our favorite from the day. Colin is very proud of his work.

Happy Grandparents Day! A couple days late...

Jackie is blessed with grandparents in Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arizona. What a lucky gal!!

Here's Granpa Larry (or Yarry). He knows just how to hold me with one hand and has the most comfortable chest - puts me right to sleep. I look forward to book readings and airplane with him. :-)
Gotta love Gramma Judy - She keeps me warm with her blanket and whispers softly when I'm sleeping. I'm looking forward to shoe shopping with her. What fun! I've been practicing cajun style with my Mardi Gras rattle!!

And Gramma Marty (she doesn't really like that name, but Dad is "stickin to it") - she thinks I'm pretty special and has been waiting sooooo long for me. I can't wait to hear her magical stories. Pretty soon, I'll be taller than her too!!

Here's Pop - what a guy!! He's going to teach me all kinds of big words so I can impress my teachers. When I get old enough, he'll introduce me to wine tasting. Not too fast, I'm still under 15 lbs.

Grandma - what a fun gal she is. She takes care of me on Tuesdays and comes up with funny songs, words and accents. She always knows how to make me smile.

Here's Grandpa - he can't wait until I get older so he can tease me and embarrass me. Right now, I'll just enjoy the funny faces he makes.

Hi yo Dawlin...

Grandma and Jackie, June 2008

As you can see, our "little dawlin" is all "peaches and cream." Both of these expressions my grandmother used to say. Grandma passed away one week ago and I miss her. I miss her smile and I miss her laugh. Most of all, I miss her perfect example of how to live life. She was able to make feasts out of bread crumbs. Parties would happen around her on a random weekday night. Laughter filled her home and it was always ok to cry. She loved life and we loved her. I'm so happy that Jackie met her, was held by her, and listened to her singing.

Yet, Another Roman Catholic...

It's official! Jackie is our families newest Catholic. Fr. Brian O'Brien baptized Jackie on August 9th. She was looking smashing in her beautiful gown (thanks to Mom and Dad Dowdell), cute booties (thanks to Mom and Bill Morgan) and elegant baby bracelet (thanks to Dad and Judy Swindle). As you can see from the picture, she needed a snack break about 5 minutes into the ceremony. When a girl wants to eat, she needs to eat! The ceremony was lovely, surrounded by family and friends. As Father O'Brien said, "we can all learn from Jackie what it means to be dependent on God and his love for us." Congratulations Jackie - you are now part of a welcoming and wonderful faith.

Happy Birthday Colin!

You are the best husband and Daddy. We love you!!!

Splish Splash zzzzz...

Jackie loved her first swim in the pool with Mommy and Grandma. Once she was used to the temperature, she went right to sleep. :-)
